What is BB cream, and how does it differ from foundation?

BB cream (blemish balm) leaves a thinner layer than foundation and gives a more natural, skin-like finish. Its coverage is medium; it suits those who do not want make-up to look obvious. Because it offers moisturising, tone-evening and sun-protecting functions at once, it shortens the morning routine.

What does SPF 50 mean?

SPF indicates the level of protection a product provides against UVB rays. SPF 50 falls in the high-protection class. For the protection to be what is expected, the product must be applied in a sufficient amount — roughly two finger-lengths of product is recommended for the face. Where there is long exposure to the sun it should be reapplied every 2 hours; but since reapplying over make-up is not practical, using a separate sunscreen during long sun exposure is the better approach.

How to apply

Apply after your moisturiser, to clean skin, spreading it with your fingertips or a damp sponge. You can then even out specific areas with Concealer and set with Compact Powder.

This is a cosmetic product. Sunscreen alone is not enough; in strong sun, staying in the shade and wearing protective clothing is recommended. Avoid the eye area.
